The Samsung phablet will feature 16MP, Side Touch, Wide Selfie, and much more.

Apple and Samsung have an equal share in the hype created around some new products to be revealed soon by the respective companies. While we are pretty much psyched to get our hands on the upcoming iPhone 6, we are also very excited at the aspect of Samsung unveiling their Galaxy Note 4 phablet. Thanks to some of the sources, we have got some inside information on the Note 4 and you should probably brace yourself for the daily leaks on the device since it is nearing its announcement. For today’s leak, the focus is predominantly going to be on camera specifications and features.

The sources have revealed that the Galaxy Note 4 is going to sport an impressive 16-megapixel Sony IMX240 camera sensor on the back which will be accompanied by the optical image stabilization (OIS). If you are going to own the Galaxy Note 4, you will be able to shoot UHD (3840×2160) video at 30FPS. It is not the first time that the IMX240 camera sensor is being put to use by Samsung. If we can recall, this same sensor was equipped onto the Korean Galaxy S5 Broadband LTE-A (SM-G906S/L/K) but there was no optical image stabilization (OIS) along with it.

Looking at the evidences from the last few years, Samsung has been following the trend of using a 2.1-megapixel front-facing camera on its devices but this time the Korean giant is taking everything a step further including the front shooter which is now going to be an impressive 3.7 MP camera sensor. This front facing camera would allow users to capture images and videos in WQHD (2560×1440) resolution. There still isn’t enough information on the sensors so we can’t really comment on any details as yet.

It seems that everything Samsung dreamed of doing with the Galaxy s5 but couldn’t pull it off at that time is being brought to the Galaxy Note 4. Here we are referring to the Side Touch feature which was introduced at the start of this year and was rumored to become part of the Samsung Galaxy S5 but eventually didn’t. Though Galaxy S5’s firmware still holds the code in it, there is no technology pertaining to this particular feature. However, it is now being tested Galaxy Note 4. No details have been revealed about the feature but all we know is that it is a sensor built into the bottom right side of the device. This is the place where we would expect to find a physical dedicated camera button.

Apart from this, the Galaxy Note 4 is going to feature all the Galaxy S5’s camera features including HDR Live, Selective Focus, Fast Auto-focus, and more. In addition to this, Samsung is introducing four new camera modes, three of which are solely for taking selfies, which include: Wide Selfie, Selfie, Selfie Alarm and Create A GIF File.
