- Update rolled out in phases
- No major change expected
The carrier announced on their support page that the Samsung Galaxy Tab 4.0 Android 4.4.4 update is now being pushed to users.
It has been a while since Samsung’s LTE-friendly Galaxy Tab 4 8.0 was made available through T-Mobile as well and in a recent announcement, the carrier has revealed that the users are finally going to get a taste of the Samsung Galaxy Tab 4.0 Android 4.4.4 update which is now being rolled on to its customers. However, this roll out is not that simple and it is going to take place in phases, meaning that some unlucky T-Mobile Galaxy Tab 4 8.0 owners might have to wait a bit more before being able to update their devices with the new software.
Upon launch the Galaxy Tab 4 8.0 was already equipped with tons of stuff including transparent status bar, white status bar icons, cloud printing, immersive mode, color emoji support, new Location menu, or full screen album and movie art in the lock screen so it wouldn’t be wise to expect some major changes in the new update.
T-Mobile hasn’t posted an official changelog for the Samsung Galaxy Tab 4 8.0 Android 4.4.4 update however the security improvements, bug fixes, and minor updates for Samsung’s native apps are to be expected. After your device gets the eligibility to receive this new firmware, you are likely to receive a system update message in the notifications panel. In order to move forward, you will have to tap on this and follow the instructions which appear on the screen.
In case you haven’t received any system update, you would need to perform a manual check on your own by going under Settings > General > About device > Software update > Check for software updates. Another way is to get hold of the USB cable, connect your tablet to the PC, then perform a software update check via KIES.
