The Cupertino company strategically pulled the rug from under Samsung
Samsung and Apple have been at each others’ throats for years now, but it seems that Apple /4/have struck a deadly blow to the company’s sales.
Samsung and Apple have found themselves in court together on several occasions, having to do with the fact that Samsung essentially stole Apple’s designs and began creating Android phones that copy the iPhone. For years, that has been paying off well for Samsung, who has settled patent infringement cases without having to actually pay the money to the Cupertino based company. With the most recent earnings report from Samsung, however, it seems that Apple strategically struck down their success.
With the same design elements and power, Samsung has had a single thing over Apple and that is the size of the screen. When Apple announced the iPhone 6, they made sure to add that the phone would come with a much larger screen, effectively ending the reign of power that Samsung has. The earnings report detailed a massive drop in sales of over 70% in Samsung’s mobile department. There could be a lot of different reasons for that, but Apple should be given a great deal of credit for the part that they played in eliminating some of their competition.
