Samsung Orbis to Rival Apple Watch

Samsung Orbis to Rival Apple Watch

Can Samsung, Motorola and others withstand the Apple Watch? Samsung is rumored to work on a round smartwatch with digital crown that is aimed at catching up with the Apple Watch.

With all of the reports that have been coming out over the past two weeks, it certainly looks like the Apple Watch will be coming out on the market as early as March of this year. With that being said and with how the digital and mobile industry has always done in the past, a good question is: Will there be a rival to the Apple Watch? There are already lots of smartwatches on the market. Samsung for instance has already beaten Apple to releasing a smartwatch. Samsung actually has produced four different smart watches with all four running on different operating systems.

While these watches have not been able to take off and gain some consumer momentum, when the Apple Watch is released there is a good chance that Samsung will go back to the drawing board and try to rival the Apple Watch.

According to the website SamMobile, Samsung is working on the development of a wearable watch device that is only known as Orbis. There are very few features that are known about Samsung Orbis only that it will have a 360 degree face with a crown shaped power button.

The Apple Watch is also armed with a digital crown but Samsung says that in no way did they copy or want to emulate the Apple Watch. The Orbis will have a power button that will do various functions as well. It will be able to activate the Samsung S Voice, turning on the screen, and also allowing for a person to send a message during emergency situations.
