Samsung Using its Own Sensors along with Sony’s on Galaxy S6 and S6 edge Cameras

The Sony sensor works perfectly well, but it still remains to be seen how the Samsung sensor performs

It no longer matters whether companies reveal the entire set of details for their products or not, because eventually we are going to get to that. Teardowns have revealed more about phones and tablets than the companies have themselves and one of the best things about the findings is that they are absolutely unbiased. Samsung has probably decided to stay silent on what kind of sensor it used on the rear camera of the Galaxy S6 and S6 edge. Thanks to all the software information and the teardown results, we now know that the Galaxy flagship uses the Sony IMX240 sensor.

There are some devices out there which still use the company’s own ISOCELL and it remains an ambiguity as to why the Korean manufacturer is making use of two sensors. It might be that the two sensors are region specific but nothing has been confirmed as yet. It has been difficult to get both these devices with different sensors hence nothing can be concluded about the quality difference between the two.

On the contrary, both the Galaxy phone have been reviewed with the Sony sensor and it turns out that it is pretty amazing but it would be wise to know how the Samsung sensor is doing.
