The 128GB drive costs $130, while the maxed-out 1TB option costs $730
Over the past one year, Samsung has been working towards evolving the way it deals with the construction of its flash memory. It went from a horizontal to a vertical arrangement of cells, or what it calls 3D V-NAND. The 850 Pro range is the first kind of V-NAND consumer SSDs and from all the reviews we have got so far, it clearly shows that this new way of doing things has agreed a lot with Samsung and the new cell placement has certainly shown a boost in performance. HotHardware says that the 850 Pro range was able to top the scores list when compared with other real-world scores from rival drives. And according to Tom’s Hardware, Samsung is now pushing the limits of the SATA interface, such that other products are “within a stone’s throw” of the 850 Pro’s scores. This is at least till the PCI Express version comes around.

All reviews on the Samsung flash drive focus on the fact that the new line-up comes at a significant premium, even when you factor in Samsung’s nice 10-year warranty. It will cost you $130 for the 128 GB drive while the 1 TB model comes for a whopping $730.
