Sarah Jones to Be Honored By Former Cast Crew.

A 5K walk will be held in October 5 in honor of Sarah Jones. The walk has been organized by two crew teams that used to work alongside Jones before she passed on. The teams include cast members from The Vampire Diaries and The Originals. Prior to her death, Jones was working as a camera assistant. In fact, she died in February in her line of duty while shooting Midnight Rider.

According to Orlando Sentinel, Jones death was caused by a high speed train that ran over her while covering some scenes of Midnight Rider in Georgia. Her family has since filed a law suit against the producers of that film and the companies that distribute it for failing to prevent her death.

Jones death came as an eye opener to cast teams and film producers. Many on- set safety campaigns have since been rolled out to encourage cast teams to take caution while shooting films. Jones’ parents, Richard and Elizabeth Jones have confirmed that they will be at the front line during the walk. His brother, will also be among the walkers.

Jones parents established Sarah Jones Foundation in honor of their daughter. The foundation’s main agenda is to sensitize actors and actresses and all the people that are involved in film production on the importance of observing protective measures. The 5K walk has been organized to raise funds for the foundation so that it can continue with it’s noble course.
