Travolta, who has been practicing Scientology for 40 years, claims the concepts are simply misunderstood.

John Travolta claimed that Scientology saved his life after the sudden death of his son. It really worked well for him and helped him save not only his own life but the lives of many others.

Travolta is a devoted Scientologist. He again came out to defend his religion, which has been under attack for many years.  More recently, a documentary “Going Clear” has been released, targeting the concepts of Scientology and making it look something controversial.

John Travolta, who appeared on Monday’s Good Morning America for the promotion of his upcoming film “The Forger,” opened up about Scientology and explained how has life has changed ever since has been practicing Scientology.

“Forty years for me, I’ve been part — and I love every minute of it, and my family has done so well with it,” Travolta told host Amy Robach on the show Good Morning America. “It’s a beautiful thing for me and I’ve saved lives with it. Saved my own life several times. Through the loss of my son (Jett), it helped me every step of the way for two years solid.”

Travolta lost his eldest son Jett, at the age of 16. His son died suddenly from a seizure back in 2009, according to Fox News.

When asked why he thinks his religion is scrutinized so often, the 61 years old John Travolta said that Scientology has been criticized too much because people misunderstood it.

“You know people really need to take time and read a book. That’s my advice. You could read A New Slant on Life or Dianetics. I think if you really do you’ll understand it, but unless you do you’ll just speculate – and I think it’s a mistake to do that.”

A number of Hollywood celebs practice Scientology including Tom Cruise and John Travolta and credit it for changing their lives.  Travolta added, “Sometimes when something really works well, it becomes a target.”
