The Longest Ride premiere catches a lot of drama as PETA protested against mistreatment of the bulls in the movie which compensated for the lack of drama inside the theater.

The Longest Ride is the latest installment in the Nicholas Sparks collection of romantic novels to be filmed for the big screen. Although critics have admitted that the movies and stories in general are somewhat uniform in style and consistent with its themes but still it has a charm that brings the audience every time to watch the Nicholas Sparks magic on the screen.

Well at least there was drama on the premiere of The Longest Ride. PETA took to protesting against the movie using bulls for the bull riding angle of the movie. Scott Eastwood plays a professional bull rider Luke who hopes to become a rodeo champion. That is where Sophia (Britt Robertson) meets him and they fall in love.

The bulls are the least of the focus in the movie. Scott Eastwood still assured anyone who would listen that they had Humane Society on the spot all the time and they ensured safe and sound treatment of the bulls.

Jim Haworth, chairman and CEO of the Professional Bull Riders told ET that it was professional bull riding that was depicted in the movie rather than some ordinary rodeo. The bulls in the movie are treated like superstars but the misinformed PETA always turns up to remind people that they are all for Animal Rights even when it’s not required.

Atleast there was no protest on the sexual content of the movie. Fifty Shades of Grey faced an extensive protest for its sexual content and its nature but The Longest Ride managed to score the approval of the group of protestors.

Maybe because there was no coercion or force involved. The chemistry between Scott and Britt had some really hot and close sexual scenes. According to Britt, director George Tillman Jr. had them tell each other what they wanted to do to each other sexually and that was just two days in knowing Scott.

It might have paid off if the movie had that spark as well. Luke and Sophia story runs parallel to Ira and Ruth’s story in the past. Played by Jack Huston and Oona Chaplin, the couple in the past goes through the same challenges the present couple are going through.

Both the couples have some hot sexual scenes lined up that is characteristic of any Nicholas Spark movies. Other than that Huston and Chaplin ended up outperforming Eastwood and Robertson which is a real shame for the younger actors because they were supposed to be the focus of the movie.
