The upcoming mini-series is based on the murder trial of former football star O.J. Simpson
The cast for “American Crime Story” continues to get bigger and bigger as it has been confirmed by Entertainment Weekly today that Selma Blair will play the role of Kris Jenner in the upcoming series. The FX’s mini-series American Crime Story: The People V OJ Simpson” revolves around the murder trial of former American football player O.J. Simpson who was charged with the killing of his wife Nicole Brown Simpson and Ronald Lyle Goldman in 1994. The case led to the criminal investigation and arrest of the American football star in which he was initially acquitted but later convicted of the crime in a civil trial. It has been considered as one of the most publicized criminal trial in the American history.
Kris Jenner was the wife of Robert Kardashan, one of the Simpson’s attorneys at the time of the trial. The character of Robert Kardashan will be played by David Schwimmer who is making his first real return to television with this series.
The 42-year old Selma Blair is best known for her work in Hell Boy and Legally Blonde. She also starred in some television shows such as “Kath and Kim” and more recently in “Anger Management.” His role in American Crime Story is expected to be supporting yet influential. The first season, which is entitled as “The People V OJ Simpson”, is comprised of 10 episodes and has been created and executive produced by Scott Alexander and Larry Karaszewski.
The remaining cast includes Cuba Gooding Jr. as O. J. Simpson, Sarah Paulson as Marcia Clark (head prosecutor), John Travolta as Robert Shapiro (lead attorney), Courtney B. Vance as Johnnie Cochran and Jordana Brewster as Denise Brown.
The shooting has been underway in Los Angeles and the series is set to premiere in 2016.
