NBC Video
- Seth Meyers iced by Quvenzhane Wallis video goes viral.
Seth Meyers was iced by Quvenzhane Wallis who played Annie at the Golden Globes 2015.
They were not exactly kissing cousins. Seth Meyers and Quvenzhane Wallis sat close to each other at the Golden Globes 2015 but hardly exchanged any niceties or shop talk. They were not material for shared selfies.
The child superstar Wallis gave Seth the cold shoulder. Meyers had a vantage point of great advantage since he sat at the same table as Katie Holmes, Maggie and Jake Gyllenhaal. And last but not least Quvenzhane Wallis was at his table too.
But she didn’t pay him any heed. The fact that she played a major role in the oft-repeated musical Annie didn’t help things either between Seth and Wallis. She was charming and highly adept at the game of show-womanship but she couldn’t care less about Seth Meyers.
Meyers and his wife hobnobbed with Tina Fey and Amy Poehler. Seth later on spilled the beans regarding Wallis. He said that she was not his type and also was not in the least bit interested in engaging in a conversation with him.
But he still acknowledged the fact that she was a very highly skilled and polished child actress who had the will to portray Annie in the musical version of the famous film with the song “The Sun Will Come Out Tomorrow” in it.
Seth admitted the fact that despite the cold shoulder he got from Wallis’ side he was actually a huge fan of hers. But when he does get to see her in the film he will be constantly reminded of the fact that maybe your heroes and heroines don’t like you as much as you like them.
In other words, the feeling isn’t necessarily mutual. Sometimes the very people you ooh and aah over can hardly care less about what you think about them. They are too busy doing their own thing to worry over a non-entity such as you.
This is an ugly fact that slays the beautiful hypothesis that all fans get equal treatment from the stars and starlets that they worship. Most television and film stars lead hectic lives and don’t have the time or the inclination to give two hoots about what some obsessed fan thinks about them.
They are too caught up in shooting scenes for their next venture to notice that some geek in glasses is slobbering over their acting abilities and wants a simple autograph.
