Good news for Sony lovers, they have just announced the Android 4.4 KitKat update for the Xperia Z Ultra, Xperia Z1 and Xperia Z1 Compact. The new update is already available for the mentioned smartphones but you might have to be a little patient since we are hearing that the process is gradual and you might have to wait for a little longer before the notification pops on your phone.

The new update is coming with a lot of changes and to begin with we have the Google’s Android 4.4; KitKat as standard and it will feature a tweaked Status Bar and Quick Settings which has been made more customizable. It has also been cleaned up to ensure you only get the notifications you really need. For those who have the PS4, the new interface will be noticed right away. The same sleek launch animation and livewallpaper has been brought to the screen. Sony’s native app portfolio will also be taken to a new level with more improved versions in Messaging, MyXperia, Smart Connect, Small apps, TrackID, TrackID TV, Sony Select and Smart Social Camera. Moreover, the Sony Entertainment Network & PlayMemories will now integrate with more intuitive UI, better download speeds, and more.

Though the update is available for the above mentioned three smartphones, the 4.4 KitKat is already in the developmental stages Xperia Z, Xperia ZL, Xperia ZR and Xperia Tablet Z. It will be coming to the deives by the month of May.
