Kate Upton is back big time the third time around in the Sports Illustrated Swimsuit edition. She is not on the front cover of the Sports Illustrated Swimsuit 2014 edition, but on the flip-side. On top of that she is the only swimsuit model featured in a Zero Gravity shoot.

The Sports Illustrated Swimsuit 2014 edition is online and in newsstands today. Kate Upton was on the cover of the swimsuit edition for the last two years. This year three models are featured on the swimsuit 2014 cover.

Today it got though revealed that Kate Upton is on the flip-side cover. And not only that is special about Kate Upton. Besides the sexy swimsuit photos taken at your typical tropical island dream location, there are also Zero Gravity swimsuit photos with Kate Upton.

Kate Upton channels Barbarella as she and her curvy body defy gravity in a Zero G flight. The shoot took place on March 18, 2013; Upton and ZERO-G flew out of Space Coast Regional Airport inTitusville, Florida. A specially modified Boeing-727, known as G-FORCE ONE, performed a series of 17 parabolas – 13 zero gravity and four replicating lunar gravity – as Upton bounced and soared through the plane for the cameras. Upton’s weightless experience was not simulated; ZERO-G is the first and only FAA- approved provider of commercial weightless airline flights for the public.

“The ZERO-G experience was really exhilarating for everyone involved,” said MJ Day, editor of the Sports Illustrated swimsuit issue. “We have been almost everywhere in the past 50 years with SI Swimsuit, but we have never done anything like this. It was certainly the most out-of-the-box shoot. Once again, Kate surprised us all with how she handled modeling in weightlessness.
