George Osborne, the Chancellor of the Exchequer, has revealed that the movie Star Wars: Episode VIII will get made at Pinewood Studios in the UK. An investment of over $152 million has been made in purchasing the trappings for the film. As for the HR department, over 3000 new jobs will be generated thanks to the staff and administration on set.

This general message, which sent a wave of joy among Star Wars fans, was announced on Star Wars Day (/4/4th). By the way, it happens to be a bank holiday in the United Kingdom. The release of the film is still a long way off. Its scenes will get shot throughout the next year and it will come to theaters by 2017. Rian Johnson will be the director.

The Star Wars series of films has an uncanny tradition of being cast in England specifically London. The heirloom of sorts goes back to the year 1976.
Some say this internal injection of millions of dollars into the making of a movie is a move by the government to ingratiate its voters and thus get elected to office for a second time in a row. Whatever the case, the movie will be seriously entertaining millions by the end of the next two years.
