R2-D2 can use all the free promotion that he can get. There is a new droid in Force Awakens that steals his show. BB-8 is already a big fan favorite. The Star Wars pupeteers actually managed to make BB-8 real. He appeared on the stage at the Anaheim Star Wars event and his head is indeed rolling on his body without visible connection. Must be magnetic or something.
