Stratasys’ takes 3D printing to another level with its new Objet500 Connex3 3D
It has been a long time since the printers have moved into the 3D division and while some are still getting used to the thrilling concept, many manufacturers are capitalizing on this uproar which still hasn’t died down. Stratasys‘ brings a new 3D printer priced at $330,000 and this one is slightly different as it goes one step ahead and can do a lot more than the typical monochrome figurines. The Objet500 Connex3 3D is surely coming at a high price but the manufacturers have claimed that this printer is the first of its kind with its ability to create 3D objects in multiple colors and materials.
The base is formed through rubber and plastic alone but Stratasys have made a point that varying combos of the materials will bring forth various possibilities and will allow users to play around with different levels of rigidity, transparency and opacity. The reason why this one can produce more colorful objects is because the color base if formed by cyan, magenta and yellow and this is the same combination which is inside the ordinary inkjet printer we use at homes.
Moving on the to the technical working of the printer, it creates a fine result with the 16-micron layers which make it possible for the printer to produce items which have been worked through high levels of detail and have a fine finish. Also, the printer is capable of pumping out 30kg of base material in one single run.
