The NFL reportedly is asking performers to pay up if they want to play the Super Bowl 2015 half-time show.
The NFL season 2014 is just going to kicking off on September 4, but there is already talk about its finale, the Super Bowl 2015. One of the big aspects of the Super Bowl is the Super Bowl half-time show. Last Super Bowl, Bruno Mars and the Red Hot Chili Peppers rocked the stage. The audience was supposed to be 115 million. They might be the last performers not paying for the privilege to play at the Super Bowl.
Update: Katy Perry will perform the Super Bowl 2015 half-time Show. No word on whether she had to pay for the honor. As there are no reports about this we assume not.

Usually the NFL is not paying performers for the Super Bowl half-time show. The huge exposure for the acts is paying off for handsomely for the performers. According to the Wall Street Journal, the NFL has now realized that the exposure for the artist and the resulting windfall actually is something the performers should pay for.
According to the report the NFL has asked the acts on the shortlist for the Super Bowl 2015 half-time show to pay to play. The short list is comprised of Rihanna, Katy Perry and Coldplay according to the sources of the Wall Street Journal.
Since the contracts of the NFL with half-time performers are confidential, we will likely never know if the NFL got paid and how much.
The Super Bowl 2015 will take place on February 1, 2015 in Phoenix, Arizona.
