Super Bowl 2015 Weekend to Feature Ludacris and Kaskade

Popular recording artists Ludacris and Kaskade will perform at different venues in the Glendale, Az. area during Super Bowl XLIX weekend.

If you’re in Glendale, Az. for Super Bowl XLIX weekend, you might just be lucky to watch Ludacris and Kaskade perform. 

According to The Arizona Republic’s Kellie Hwang, both recording artists will hit the town that weekend to spice things up before the big game’s kickoff on Feb. 1 at the University of Phoenix Stadium. 

Lucacris will take center stage at INTL Nightclub on Jan. 30. Among his popular hits are “Money Maker” and “Stand Up.” The venue will also host several events in the days prior to that, per Hwang:

• Jan. 22 and 23: Players Lounge which features NFL players and staff
• Jan. 25: NFL Pro Bowl After-Party
• Jan. 29: DJ Pauly D of MTV’s “Jersey Shore”

On the other hand, DJ Kaskade will be the main performer at Maya on Jan. 31. One of the Chicago-based artist’s most famous hits is “Atmosphere” which was released in Sept. 2013. Dj Tiesto will perform on Jan. 30 at Maya, says Hwang.

Hwang also enumerates several other top-notch performers on tap during Super Bowl XLIX weekend:

• DJ Erick Morillo at Blur Nightclub on Jan. 31
• Relentless Bats will host the “Relentless Bowl” which features Australia’s Knife Party at the Pressroom on the same day.
• Steve Aoki will perform at the Bud Light House of Whatever. 

In other Super Bowl news, Variety.com’s Brian Steinberg reported in Jan. 2015 that Avocados from Mexico will air a 30-second ad after the first quarter of Super Bowl XLIX. No previews of this commerical will be aired before the game.

Avocados from Mexico president Alvaro Luque said in a statement obtained by Steinberg that the Super Bowl is not only an opportunity to promote the company’s products, but also to encourage people to eat healthier:

“We are excited to be advertising during the ‘Big Game,’ but more importantly, we’re committed to giving consumers a nutritous way to enjoy game time and anytime snacking. This ad continues the trend toward good-for-you choices advertised in a big way, and we’re thrilled to be a part of that important shift.”

The company also maintains it is the first fresh produce to air an ad during a Super Bowl game. Steinberg stresses Avocados from Mexico is capitalizing on an opportunity to make the most of America’s increasing interest in avocados — the number coming in during the first two months of 2015 is expected to exceed a volume of 285 million pounds. According to Technomic (via Variety.com), avocado sales in the country is seen to grow by 8.1 percent through 2019.

Aside from Avocados from Mexico, other first-time Super Bowl advertisers are Carnival Corp., Loctite and Morphie. Avocados from Mexico did not drop any hints about the ad agency which created its slot. This is an attempt to prevent any vital information from leaking out prior to its airtime on Feb. 1, per Steinberg.
