The St. Louis Rams owner Stan Kroenke announced to build a new NFL stadium in Los Angeles.

The Los Angeles Colosseum hosted Super Bowl I back in 1967. No Super Bowl has been hosted in LA again since Super Bowl VII 1973. The Super Bowl could come back though in the coming years if the plans for a new NFL stadium in LA will work out. Today St. Louis Rams owner Stan Kroenke and Stockbridge Capital Group announced according to the LA Times to build a new NFL stadium named Farmers Field at the grounds of the Hollywood Park in Inglewood.

The new stadium would have 80,000 seats and in addition house a 6,000 seat performance venue. Which teams would play in LA is not clear yet. Besides the St. Louis Rams, the Oakland Raiders and the San Diego Chargers are possible candidates.

The stadium could get built quickly as billionaire Kroenke seems to have everything lined-up.
