Taco Bell App is Kind of Brilliant

Taco Bell launched today in a big why their new Taco Bell mobile ordering app.

One would think Fast Food is already fast enough, but there is a way to make it even faster. Taco Bell introduced today the Taco Bell Ordering App. Now you can easily customize menu items and pay for your Taco Bell order from your smartphone. Pick up your order whenever you want. Taco Bell will not make your food until you arrive. The key is that you can skip the in-store line like you own the place. I guess that works until everybody orders ahead with the Taco Bell mobile ordering app.

Taco Bell actually really thought that app through. They did not just wing it. For instance you get a notification when you get close to a Taco Bell and you can check in while you park your car. The Taco Bell kitchen got already your order and starts making it. Chances are that the order is ready when you reach the desk.

You can also already pay inside the app with your credit or debit card. All in all this is a real time saver. I would not be surprised if we see soon other fast food chains follow Taco Bell’s lead.

The new Taco Bell app is available now in the iTunes App Store and on Google Play. In addition to paying securely and picking up the order conveniently through drive-thru or in a separate line within the store. Taco Bell is the first business to offer “Rotate to Reorder” (patent pending) a feature that makes reordering customized favorites as easy as a flick of the wrist.

To mark the launch of the app the Taco Bell social media platforms – including Twitter, Facebook, Tumblr and Instagram – have gone dark, revealing the new way to Taco Bell is #onlyintheapp. While silent, each social media platform, as well as tacobell.com, will provide only a disruptive message and link to download the new app — with all previous content removed. Consumers with the previous Taco Bell mobile app will receive an update for the new mobile ordering app.
