TAD-CE1 Evolution Series Speakers will debut at CES 2015

Technical Audio Devices Laboratories (TAD), Inc. will be introducing this new product at the CES 2015 that will offer the best sound quality and High-End Design.

Technical Audio Devices Laboratories Inc. unveiled its new modern styled bookshelf speaker today, the TAD-CE1. The speaker has been built with TAD’s outstanding sound technology. The new product by TAD has been equipped with the renowned Coherent Source Transducer (CST) driver which has been combined with a Multi-layered Aramid Composite Shell (MACS) woofer.

This woofer has been encased in a newly designed cabinet that is quite pleasing and is also able to produce the outstanding sound quality that is expected from TAD products. The TAD-CE1 cabinet will use a mix of high quality materials for its development which will include high rigidity birch plywood, precision cut 10 millimeter aluminum panels and medium density fiberboard (MDF).

Andrew Jones the director and chief engineer for TAD products recently stated that the company has taken a different direction and approach to the TAD-CE1. This change has been made both in mechanics and cosmetic design.

Andrew also stated that that company has always wanted to maximize its performance by combining a new bi-directional slot-port which will also give the owners the ability to change and customize its looks with interchangeable panels.

As explained before that the TAD-CE 1 uses the Coherent Source Transducer (CST) let us look at what it is used for. The Coherent Source Transducer basically places the tweeter diaphragm concentrically within the midrange cone to produce sounds with regular timing and great imaging and this range from 250 Hz to 100 KHz.

Now in order to reproduce high frequencies accurately beyond the audible range the tweeter is made of vapor deposited beryllium. Now how is the lower bass response formed? Well it is formed by a one piece cone woofer which has been reinforced with multi-layered aramid composite material.

Now this one-piece construction of the come and the dustcap increases the strength of the cone and so the weak points that cause distortions are eliminated. TAD has taken all the steps to make its cone stronger and did this by TAD’s own Multi-layered aramid composite shell process.

Now the use of these multiple layers of aramid fibers has provided low mass and high rigidity that can withstand the back pressure that is produced in the cabinet.

Another question is that how is the rich and powerful bass output created! Well this is created thanks to the slit-shaped ports that have been integrated onto the sides of the cabinet.

This unique and special design helps to move the air in a bi-directional pattern and eliminates unwanted resonance and standing waves within the enclosure. This then results in a natural sounding bass response.
