Twitter has a new favorite distraction: #AlexFromTarget
You might have seen the hashtag #AlexFromTarget trending on and off the last two days. Now it is #1 again. Even Target has now reacted to the #AlexFromTarget meme. It all started with a photo of a teenage employee bagging groceries at Target. Many Twitter users found him attractive and started to retweet the photo. Once it became trending Twitter’s funny guys come in and made parodies or found other cute retail employees. Usually this silliness takes a couple of hours, #AlexFromTarget though is holding on. The real Alex has also a Twitter account like all teenagers do and he now can command close to 400,000 followers.
Target also jumped on the AlexFromTarget hype and posted this Tweet:
We heart Alex, too! #alexfromtarget pic.twitter.com/LvA7qc5RfS— Target (@Target) November 3, 2014

When will the #AlexFromTarget hype end? Who knows. Now the media got into it (guilty!) pushing #AlexFromTarget even more. I guess though by mid-week we do not talk about Alex from Target anymore.
The tweets from user @auscalum who started the Alex From Target trend by sharing the photo are now protected. I guess she does not want uncontrolled number of followers she does not know.
The real Alex is still trying to cope with his huge new number of Twitter followers.
