Taylor Swift Releases New Song from 1989 Album at Midnight

Taylor Swift has posted a teaser that something will happen on iTunes on Monday 11:59.pm ET. Now she revealed that it is another song that will be available on iTunes.

The new Taylor Swift album 1989 is scheduled to be released on October 27. This is still a long 7 days away. Swift has released last week another song from the 1989 album and it shot up the iTunes charts to #2 and joined Swift’s #1 hit Shake it Off. For several days Taylor Swift had two songs from her album 1989 on the top of the iTunes song charts. Now only Shake it Off remains on the #1 spot. Out of the Woods dropped to #5.

Taylor Swift has another surprise today. She posted an Instagram saying: “Heads up! Something’s happening on @itunesmusic at around 11:59pm EST Monday night.. Available worldwide:) #1989”

Taylor Swift has now released a video revealing what the big surprise is. It is a new song release. Tonight at midnight the song “Welcome to New York” will be unlocked on iTunes. Taylor talks in the video about this new 1989 song and why she likes it.

“Welcome To New York” is written by Taylor Swift and Ryan Tedder (One Republic) and produced by Ryan Tedder, Noel Zancanella and Taylor Swift. This is the third song revealed from 1989, Taylor’s forthcoming fifth studio album, while the current single, “Shake It Off,” remains atop the charts across the globe.

“I started the album with “Welcome To New York” because New York has been an important landscape and location for the story of my life in the last couple of years,” said Taylor. “It’s like an electric city, and I approached moving there with such wide-eyed optimism. I saw New York as a place of endless potential and possibilities and you can hear that reflected in this music and in this song.”

Taylor Swift is really doing an amazing job promoting her new album. The unlocking of each song is a major event and drives also additional revenue as fans buy the new song and then on Friday get the whole album. Listen also to a just released teaser of Welcome To New York.

The Taylor Swift Story: Taylor Alison Swift made her worldly debut in Reading, Pennsylvania. Her pops was a financial expert while mommy dearest was a housewife and marketing executive. Taylor was the curly-haired little girl with golden tresses who would grow up on a Christmas tree farm. Thus things were sugar and spice and everything nice for the small wonder. Her earliest poems which showed her sensitive side included a verse-loom titled “Monster in my Closet”. To this day its stanzas resemble many of her present day songs. Taylor even wrote a novel at the age of 12. Although she hasn’t published it yet, she said that it contains some very private stuff.   

Taylor made her way through the circles of musical talented souls and got her abilities and cap-abilities recognized by the world at large. Her albums topped each other one after another and she received award after award till she was a well-known name not only in America but in Asia, Africa, Australia and even Antarctica (not to mention Europe). Her songs have content and also form. They include such unforgettable numbers as “Picture to Burn”, “Should’ve said No”, “Tim McGraw”, “Teardrops on My Guitar”, “Our Song” and of course “Love Story”.
