Taylor Swift has pulled all her old albums of Spotify and never released her new 1989 album on the streaming service.

Taylor Swift does not like streaming services. The pay is just not good enough for her. Spotfiy confirmed to Business Insider that Taylor Swift had all her music removed from Spotify. Taylor Swift promoted her new album with high intensity that paid off. 1989 is the #1 album on iTunes and the two top songs are also from Taylor Swift.

Swift has already been outspoken against streaming services and now she took a drastic step to remove all her music. Spotify has posted a statement on their site that tries to plea with Taylor Swift to bring back her music to Spotify.

Spotify reveals in the post that 16 million of the 40 million Spotify users have played Taylor Swift songs in the past 30 days. Her songs are on 19million play lists. Spotify says: “We hope she’ll change her mind and join us in building a new music economy that works for everyone. We believe fans should be able to listen to music wherever and whenever they want, and that artists have an absolute right to be paid for their work and protected from piracy. That’s why we pay nearly 70% of our revenue back to the music community.”

It seems though that Taylor Swift has huge leverage here. How did she even get her label to remove her music on Spotify? Taylor Swift is in total control apparently.
