HTC doing more research on the update for the HTC One X; no news for the HTC One XL so far

HTC has surely surprised everyone with its sudden decision to terminate the flagships from 2012; the HTC One X and One X+, both being on Android 4.2. The people who still have these said models in their use were not so happy with this news for obvious reasons and a lot of criticism was made on this decision. But we have got to know through a team of managers who responded on a Q&A session on Reddit that this decision wasn’t the company’s to make. According to them, this decision has been forced upon HTC by NVIDIA which has not been providing the required support to port Android 4.4 KitKat to Tegra 3.

The One X in the US is powered by Qualcomm Snapdragon chipset but this one has not been getting kitkat either. HTC was of the view that it will not enhance the user experience by updating the X. The company has finally made changes in the plans and is currently doing some more research on an update to Android 4.4 and this is being done for the US version of HTC One X. So far there has been no news about whether the HTC One XL will get the update or not.
