Tony Jaa rises from Ong-bak to Furious 7

The Ong-bak trilogy is one of the best martial arts franchise in recent years. It’s star is Tony Jaa. He entered the mainstream with his role in Furious 7.

The Ong-bak movies are a milestone in martial arts movies. The fighting style of Tony Jaa is mesmerizing and captivating. The first Ong-bak movie of the Thailand born Jaa came out in 2003. Now Tony Jaa landed in the most successful action movie franchise: Fast & Furious. In Furious 7, Tony Jaa plays Kiet.

Tony Jaa plays one of the bad boys that fight against Dominic Toretto’s family. Furious 7 is taking over the box office this weekend. It is expected that Furious 7 will take the weekend box office crown. Industry insiders predict that Furious 7 will reach a billion Dollar in ticket sales world-wide. Furious 7 is special not only because it is a huge action flick, but also because of the tragic death of actor Paul Walker during filming. There is a lot of emotion that surrounds the premiere and promotion of Furious 7 from the cast that carries over to fans.

Dominic Torretto and his crew thought they left the criminal mercenary life behind. They defeated an international terrorist named Owen Shaw and went their separate ways. But now, Shaw’s brother, Deckard Shaw is out killing the crew one by one for revenge. Worse, a Somalian terrorist called Jakarde, and a shady government official called “Mr. Nobody” are both competing to steal a computer terrorism program called God’s Eye, that can turn any technological device into a weapon. Torretto must reconvene with his team to stop Shaw and retrieve the God’s Eye program while caught in a power struggle between terrorist and the United States government.
