It has been quite some time that Ubisoft has been trying to fix the Assassin’s Creed Unity Bug.
The game launched last Tuesday and since then Ubisoft’s forums, product page and social media accounts are flooded with complaints. The users have complained about unexpected crashes and frame rate issues on both console version as well as the PC version. Also the players were not able to enjoy the game online because of Ubisoft’s servers.
These problems are pretty common in all games, but the weirdest problem that the players are facing is; the characters take on a ghoulish appearance, according to Steam user Retro_Apocalypse.
He said that sometimes the character’s body disappears, leaving behind only their hair, teeth, eyes or gums. Other players have uploaded videos in which the characters are out of control; they are running in places and floating awkwardly.
Despite the company’s claim that they have fixed all the problems in a Day one update, people are still facing glitches. There is a long list of problems that still remain. An upcoming date will focus fixing the main character, Arno.
The character falls through the grounds or it gets caught inside the hay carts. In the same Update Ubisoft will try to resolve issues such as delays in reaching the main menu of the game and co-op session crashes.
The future updates will focus on problems related to graphics, Helix Credits and match making. However, the company has yet not given the exact deadline by which they will fix all the bugs.
The community manager on Ubisoft’s forum said that the reason behind these graphical performance issues involve GPU configuration and AMD CPU. The user who owns the NVIDIA graphic cards have also been experiencing most of these problems.
Hayden Dingman, who is presently working on his Assassin’s Creed Unity review, said that his computer went into hard lock for more than 10 times in the last two days and he is using an NVIDIA GTX 760 GPU graphic card.
The complete game is one big mess on consoles and PCs likewise. The chances are the bugs in the game won’t be fixed in the near future. Thus blaming AMD in particular does not make sense. The wise choice would be that you avoid the game until all the bugs are fixed.
The main reason behind this mess is that Ubisoft has joined the unsuccessful trend of introducing a game that is not yet ready. Sim City and Battlefield 4 are one of the biggest examples. On the other hand the publishers are trying to sweeten the pre-ordering pot and luring more and more players into buying the game, regardless the game’s quality.
On Wednesday Ubisoft shares fell by 8.3 percent because the investors have started to lose their faith in the publisher’s ability. They think the publisher does not have the ability to launch a complete and bug free game. However, Ubisoft promises to fix all these issues in the near future as the publishers are really working hard and spending quality time on the game.
