  • Grand finale thrill ride.
  • Cast members discuss the ride.

Are you 2 Fast and 2 Furious, or just out to get the fam of 6? Either way, Fast & Furious—Supercharged looks to blow audiences minds with all 3D-HD cameras that follows an all-new story with a race against Owen Shaw.

Universal Studios in Hollywood’s looking to get revved up and Supercharged in an all new Fast & Furious ride and storyline. Pivoted as the grand finale for the park, the high-octane ride offers visitors the chance to race alongside Dom Torretto (Vin Diesel) and against villainous Owen Shaw (Luke Evans) at perceived speeds of up to 120 mph.

Who will win in the life or death match up?

Dwayne Johnson (Luke Hobbs), Michelle Rodriguez (Letty Ortiz), Tyrese Gibson (Roman Pearce), Evans, and Diesel are all featured actors in the original story.

Guests on the Studio Tour earn the chance to see the famous backlot of the park, and enter the 65,000-square-foot structure housing the ride. The screens will be a total of 34 4K projectors in a configuration meant to encompass and overwhelm the audience.

And the stars couldn’t stop praising Fast & Furious—Supercharged during filming.

“It’s really a sensory driven experience, and I can’t wait to see what happens,” said Rodriguez  about the 3D-HD imagery screen that spans 360 degrees and 400 feet in length.

Visually mimicking the action sequences and thrilling moments of the Fast & Furious franchise, the attraction also uses exclusively filmed footage shot. In the footage, cast members engage with the audience while allowing guests to see a new style of Fast & Furious action. Universal’s looking to enhance but not recreate.

And like Johnson indicated, it’s not every day you “get a chance to become Luke Hobbs and kick ass…all in 3D.”

Guests will also notice franchise prop cars to help sell the live-in-action adventure, like Dom’s suped-up, always pivotal Dodge Charger. And like the Charger, those on the ride will feel as hydraulics shift and lift.

Tyrese also praised Universal Studio’s attention to detail. “Everything about Universal Studios puts you in the driver’s seat to really experience Hollywood.”

After all, the studio tour once housed a car demonstration on how the Fast & Furious movies worked out those amazing crash scenes in Tokyo Drift. So buckle up, fans and guests, for some too fast and too furious adventures.

Supercharged is part of the 50th anniversary of the park and included in all tickets to the park. Other new attractions will include a tour of The Simpsons’ Springfield and a tour of the backlot at night, alongside favorites like Jurassic Park, Transformers, and Despicable Me.

The latest tram tour includes Tonight Show host and SNL alum Jimmy Fallon on-screen narration as guests go through Wisteria Lane (Desperate Housewives), Jaws searching for a tasty snack, and /4/be stopping for a bit at the oh-so-innocent Bates Motel.

Fast & Furious—Supercharged opens June 25 and Furious 7 is out in national theaters on April 3. For tickets and discount prices, visit the Universal Studios Hollywood website.
