The newcomer features beefed up specs and improved finish compared to its predecessors, the Moto X XT1052.

The updated Moto X has finally been announced by Motorola and as compared to the older Moto X XT1052, this one is going to have some beefed up specs and features along with an overall improvement to the final touches. It is the company’s brand new flagship and for obvious reasons it has a more upmarket appearance predominantly because of the aluminum frame and available back covers which have been finished in Horween leather. The wooden covers are also available for the phone and we have already had a look at how these are. The little difference is that this time around they are made from FSC certified trees.

Following in the footsteps of its predecessor, this phone also has the tendency to be customized through Moto Maker in the United States. The shopping service on the phone is also going to receive an even better interface to enhance the overall experience.

As far as the specs are concerned, the new update Moto X is going to feature a Qualcomm Snapdragon 801 chipset with 2.5GHz quad-core CPU, Adreno 330 GPU, and 2GB of RAM. There are two built in storage options for customers of 16 or 32GB. But this is non-expandable memory since there is no support for micro SD. The phone’s 5.2” 1080p AMOLED display with 423ppi and Corning Gorilla Glass is also very impressive.
