The clips have been taken from two shows in 1978 and 1979

The vintage footage from the concert of Van Halen which took place in Fresno, California over two shows in 1978 and 1979 has surfaced online in an upgraded version. According to hennemusic all this material from the Selland Arena concerts which appeared to fall on the band’s first two world tours has been entirely remastered to present an upgraded version. This new version has received reconstuction frame by frame in uncompressed HD “from my original Fuji single-8 films.”

The footage which has been dated back to September 22, 1978 is a set of clips which feature set-opener “On Fire” which was a title from the band’s self-titled debut and also included the encore of “Bottoms Up”. This was to appear on the band’s second album and was presented on the concert 6 months before it was to release officially on the album.

Then there is the other footage from the March 25, 1979 concert. This concert presented the opening night of the band’s world tour which was in support of newly-released “Van Halen II” album. One of the major highlights of this footage include the “Light Up The Sky” and mid-set tune, “On Fire” which were the show openers that day. Both the videos can now be seen online.
