Vanilla Ice agrees to do Community Service to drop Theft Charges

Rapper Vanilla Ice pleaded guilty in a Florida home burglary case under a plea deal arranged by his lawyers, where his charges will be dropped if he stays out of trouble for the next 9 months.

This Thursday rapper Vanilla Ice accepted a community service which has allowed him to avoid prosecution in the break-in and burglary of a Florida home. Robert Van Winkle or more commonly known as Vanilla Ice has somehow agreed to 100 hours of community service and to pay more than a $1000 in restitution after he appeared in West Palm Beach Circuit Court Thursday morning.

The rapper aged 47 had been arrested on February 18th for grand theft and burglary. The rapper is said to have stolen furniture, a pool heater, bicycles and other items from a foreclosed South Florida home between last December and the time of his arrest.  

At this time the rapper had been renovating a neighboring home and stated that his arrest was actually a misunderstanding after leaving jail in February. 

Vanilla claimed that he thought that many of the missing items that the police found in his home were trash. Under this plea deal the prosecutors will drop the charges against the rapper within 12 months if the rapper completes 100 hours of community service with Habitat for Humanity in Palm Beach County and also pays $1,333.39 to the homeowner whose items he stole.

After the hearing on Thursday the rapper stated to The Palm Beach Post that he was quite happy that this mess got resolved. He also said that he never had any criminal intent.
