American Horror Story alum Alexandra Breckenridge has joined the zombie drama as ‘Samantha’
It isn’t something out of the ordinary to find someone new on AMC’s ‘The Walking Dead’ and they continue to add more to the already growing cast of the highly viewed zombie drama. The latest to join the bandwagon is American Horror Story alum Alexandra Breckenridge, as told by The Hollywood Reporter. A few sources have revealed that the actress is going to be made part of the Season 5 and an option will be open to keep her as part of the next season too. Her credits include Save Me and voice roles onFamily Guy and unfortunately no comments have been given on the details of her character in the season.
However, we do know that she is going to play the character of ‘Samantha’ who is an attractive, strong, smart, charming and articulate woman with a vulnerable side. AMC has effused to give any further comments on the character. As the Season 5 has kicked off, we find that Rick and his group is out on the roads and in search for a safe place. The group has disbanded and they are likely to meet a lot of new people while on the road. We are also expecting additional characters from Robert Kirkman‘s comic series to be introduced.
Showrunner Scott M. Gimple told THR after the season five premiere, “Even though they’re on the road, there’s going to be a wide variety of locations this year. When they are on the road, we will see the whole swath of life. There will be rural and there will be suburban and there’ll be urban and everything in between.” We have also known that the next location for the group is going to be the Alexandria Safe-Zone Community which will so far be their longest running residence.
So this growing cast of The Walking Dead is going to be joined by Breckenridge. At the moment there are 17 regulars in the series and Go On alum Tyler James Williams has recently been added in a mysterious role as Noah. Another addition is Lennie James’ Morgan who is going to make a surprise appearance in the post-credits scene during the season five premiere. The Wire alum Seth Gilliam is going to be the new series regular and is going to make his debut on Sunday’s episode.
