Lily Allen Says Her Stillborn Son Left Her Heart Broken
Lily Allen could not hold her tears back as she narrated her ordeal after she delivered a stillborn baby boy in 2010. The star was being interviewed on The Jonathan Ross Show.
According to US magazine, the boy was not yet mature because he was born three months earlier.
The singer said loosing a baby is the saddest thing that can ever happen to anyone. Allen must have felt devastated because she had lost another baby in 2008 due to miscarriage.
“I think it’s difficult for anybody regardless of what world they live in…it was the most unfortunate thing that can ever happen to a person,” Allen said.
Despite the disappointment, Allen was lucky to have her husband, Sam Cooper by her side. The couple tied the knot in June 2011. It’s actually Cooper’s love and care that kept her going during the tough times.
“Actually what I took home from that experience was…I was very fortunate in the sense that I have a loving partner to go home to and share that experience with,” she added.
Allen pointed out that there are so many women out there who experience stillbirths but suffer alone because they do not have someone to lean on. The star therefore considers herself privileged because she was not alone as is the case with other women.
“There are…17 stillbirths in the UK every day… and there are many women that go home and they don’t have that support, they have to go home and deal with that on their own so I am kind of in a…count-my-blessings scenario rather than feeling sorry for myself,” Allen stated.
The pop star did not give up after losing her son and sure enough, her persistence paid. In November 2012, Allen was blessed with a baby girl whom she named Ethel Mary. And at the beginning of 2013, she gave birth to another girl, Marnie Rose.
The twenty nine year old star argued that she is not yet done with babies because she still desires to have a son probably to compensate for the one she lost.
“I’d love a boy. And I’d also like another girl just so I can call her Auxiliary Jane or Pizza,” she laughed laughed.
“I quite like Pizza for a kid, or Megan Lolz that would be good. Megan Lolz.”
