Randy Jackson Will No Longer Be in American Idol

Randy Jackson has decided to leave American Idol. This means that the pioneer who came into the reality show as a judge will not be there for the upcoming season.

Jackson has actually done 13 seasons. According to Hollywood Reporter, all of the other pioneers had left the show and so Jackson was the only one who was left behind.

The star was first brought on board as a judge but was later assigned the role of mentoring upcoming artists in the show. The show was produced by Fox alongside FremantleMedia North America and 19 Entertainment.

The producers appreciated Jackson for having done a wonderful job by nurturing young talents and wished that he can still maintain strong ties with the show. “Randy has been an integral part of American Idol from day 1, both as a judge and a mentor.

He’s provided great support and advice, shaping the success of so many idols we have discovered over the years. We wish him the best in his next chapter.

Randy will always be part of our idol family and we hope he’ll visit from time to time,” the statement from producers read.

Jackson had earlier left the show. However, the producers brought him back to assume the role of a mentor and sure enough he lived up to their expectations.

Besides working as a mentor and a judge, Jackson used to double as a producer and  as a singer. He actually did a record titled Dance like there’s no tomorrow featuring Paula Abdul

Jackson was previously working with Whitney Houston, Madona, Celine Dion, Carlos Santana and Aretha Franklin.
