The first extended look of ‘Supergirl’ by CBS is finally here!

The first look of the series ‘Supergirl’ has finally been unveiled by CBS on Wednesday. The series stars Melissa Benoist in the role of Supergirl/ Kara Zor-El who escaped from Krypton amid its destruction. We see Alura Zor-El played Laura Benanti as the mother of supergirl telling her young daughter how on Earth, you will do extraordinary things in their emotional farewell. 

After a series of very fast flashes we see Kara as a 24 years old assistant to a media mogul Cat Grant played by Calista Flockhart who makes an entry into the office which exhibits her power as a media head.

Kara however is not satisfied with her life and wants become the hero she has the potential of. In another prominent moment from the trailer include when Kara tells her sister she feels her life is being wasted when she can even fly… or she thinks she can!

James Olsen played by Mehcad Brooks is also introduced as a former Daily Planet photographer who is an ally of Superman the cousin of Kara and is now working at CatCo, where Kara works. 

We also get to see the foster sister of Kara aka Supergirl, named Alex, who is a doctor inspired by her sisters superpowers to dwell into science. It is while trying to save Alex in a burning plane Kara uses her powers for the first time and unleashes her full superhuman potential.

After having been named ‘Supergirl’ Kara wonders with her boss shouldn’t she have been named ‘Superwoman’ to which her boss Cat replies;  Supergirl is anything less than perfect and if Kara doesn’t think so there is something wrong with Kara. 

In the Supergirl trailer we also get to meet Hank Henshaw as a former CIA agent who runs the DEO (Department of Extra-Normal Operations) to help protect the world from extraterrestrial threats.
