Walmart Thanksgiving Day Black Friday Onlne Sales set New Record

Walmart unveiled that the Black Friday sales event on Thanksgiving Day was their second biggest online shopping day ever. Only the Walmart Cyber Monday of last year was bigger.

The race is one. Will Cyber Monday remain the biggest online shopping event or will Black Friday take over the lead. Walmart report that the online Black Friday sale on Thanksgiving was their second-highest online sales day ever. Only last year’s Cyber Monday sale was bigger.

Walmart did not release specific numbers yet. According to Adobe, Thanksgiving Day and Black Friday set new sales records with $1.33 billion and $2.4 billion, respectively. Between November 1 and November 28, $32 billion have been spent online, 14 percent more than in 2013.

The Walmart Cyber Monday 2014 sale will begin Saturday morning. This is earlier than ever. The best Cyber Monday deals are expected to be released on Sunday. It will be interesting what Walmart will offer on Saturday to draw consumers to walmart.com and beating Black Friday fatigue.

Cyber Monday 2014 is expected to generate $2.6 billion in sales. Black Friday sales are predicted to reach $2.48 billion.

 

Cyber Monday, a term coined by Shop.org in 2005, got established when retailers saw a trend of consumers shopping online on the Monday after Thanksgiving. Today, Cyber Monday is viewed as the online equivalent to Black Friday. Cyber Monday 2013 is expected to a huge sales day again this year – most likely the biggest.
