Windows 10 Cortana will Work on iPhone and Android Phones

Microsoft announced that their Cortana voice assistant coming in Windows 10 will not only be available on Windows Phones but also as apps on iPhone and Android.

Microsoft announced today to bring Cortana to Android and iOS phones with the release of Windows 10. When users upgrade their Windows PC (for free) to Windows 10 this summer, they also get Cortana. Cortana on Windows PCs offers the same integration as on Windows Phones. Cortana will be able to help you get lots of things done, from searching for things on the web or your device to setting reminders, dictating email, or toggling device settings. Cortana is also integrated into the new web browser Microsoft Edge.

Part of the power of a personal assistant comes from being available on the go, on the device you carry with you everywhere. And for people who don’t have the benefit of a Windows phone, Microsoft extends the advantage of Cortana in Windows 10.

A Cortana application for Android phones and for iPhones will work as a companion to Cortana on the Windows 10 PC. The “Phone Companion” app on the PC will support the install the Cortana app from the Google Play or Apple App Store onto consumers phones so.

The Cortana app can do most of the things Cortana does on your PC or on a Windows phone. Cortana can remind users to pick up milk the next time you’re at the grocery store, and then your phone will wake up and buzz with the reminder.

Users will also be able to track a flight using Cortana on both your phone and your PC, and get the updates on the device. Everything in Cortana’s Notebook will show up across all devices and any changes you make on one device will be reflected when using Cortana on any of your other devices.

Cortana on Windows Phones will have more capabilities as Microsoft can integrete it into the OS.
