X-Men: Apocalypse /4/be titled X-Men: Akkaba

After the great success of X-Men: Days of the Future Past and a timeline mess that even a lot of us are trying to understand, we could only look forward to the final movie in the First Class series to make any sense and it seems like the production is going out on a bang to make the last movie phenomenal which means making the title work.

The title was set to be X-Men: Apocalypse to X-Men: Akkaba. To understand the relevance of the title, we have to go to the roots of the Marvel’s X-Men comic books. The movie is expected to be great as it is the last movie in the X-Men: First Class franchise.

First of all we will definitely be seeing the old characters coming back such as Cyclops (James Marsden), Jean Grey (Famke Janssen), Storm (Halle Berry) and Professor X (Patrick Stewart) after the character reboot the franchise got in Days of the Future Past.

We will also see the return of Hugh Jackman as the Wolverine and ofcourse the coveted cast of the First Class including James McAvoy. Michael Fassenbender, Jennifer Lawrence and Nicholas Hoult. These are the people we are expecting to come back but they have a surprise planned for everyone.

There is a new director for the movie, Bryan Singer. Then we might be seeing Channing Tatum as Gambit. Rumor is he has already been cast but it is not yet confirmed whether he would be in the movie. The film would also make another time travel trip back to the 1980’s.

In the 1980’s, we will also be seeing the young versions of the characters. We are most probable to see the 16 years old versions of Jean, Scott and Storm. The casting for the young cast has already begun and we are expecting to see the new cast soon.

A great superhero movie needs a great villain and it seemed like the production had ran out of great villains by putting in Trask and his Sentinnels in Days of the Future Past. The production plunged its head in the vast Marvel comic book collection and grabbed on to the greatest villain of all. The comic book fans know him as Apocalypse.

For the movie fans, we saw a glimpse of Apocalypse in Days of the Future Past but the mystery remains about what Apocalypse is. According to the comic book legend, Apocalypse might be the first mutant in existence. His name En Sabah Nur which literally translates into the ‘First One.’

Yes, the first mutant ever in existence is the new villain for the franchise’s last movie which is ironic. Apocalypse was born in ancient Egypt around three thousand B.C. He had grey skin with blue traces around the features.

His powers include flight, invulnerability, superhuman strength, teleportation, telekinesis … so basically, he’s invincible. He kind of reminded me of Dr. Manhattan from Watchmen so we can draw some inspiration for the character from him as long as we don’t get a glimpse of the actual Apocalypse.

Apocalypse history includes bouts of enslavement and struggle for power and he created his Four Horsemen;  Pestilence, Famine, War and Death. So his advent would be the real apocalypse for our heroes as Apocalypse swears to vanquish other mutants and take over the world.

According to sources, the film might not be titled X-Men: Apocalypse as decided earlier but X-Men: Akkaba. Clan of Akkaba is the clan to which Apocalypse or En Sur Nabah belonged to and fought for. Maybe the production wants to stay true to the plot and give the viewers the real experience from the comic books.

We just hope that when the movie would releases on /4/19th, 2016, it has sorted out its time related confusions. The actors give the performance of their life to the final performances in the franchise and we see a great movie out growing and out competing Disney’s Alice in the Wonderland due to release on the same date.
