  • Everyone to access Twitter’s smiley set

That’s because Twitter has graciously decided to open-source their entire set, allowing anyone to use them.

We sure don’t need to get introduced to the word ‘emoji’ which is the Japanese term meaning picture character and for years it has been the standard way of showing smileys and other little symbols inside text. However, they are not like the traditional smileys because they are combined from different letters brought together, for instance the smile emoji which uses “”. In a similar fashion, every emoji has its own set of characters.

This standard of emotional characters blossomed onto the smartphones and if an emoji rightly expresses a person’s inner emotions, then they are the better option and are faster to type as opposed to typing the long sentences. Some people tend to rely on these emojis more than others do and for those frequent emoji uses, we have a good news; hundreds and hundreds of emojis are being rolled across WordPress.com – 872 to be exact.

One look at these new set of emojis is going to bring you back some memories and they look highly familiar. This is because Twitter has graciously decided to open-source their entire set, which means that anyone can use them. WordPress.org users can also have their share in the emoji fun since preparations are being made to add these emotional characters to Jetpack.
