Among the top ten highly interesting and watchable upcoming movies of this year /4/be included some hugely popular number #1 hits.
Movies take us to an alternative universe that is a total contrast to the banal world we inhabit. They allow us a peek into a secret garden that makes us gush forth with awe and anticipation. Finally, when we have had our heart’s desires fulfilled in vicarious form we end up snoozing like a baby in our warm and cozy beds. Therefore, in lieu of our spectators who cannot get enough of the imagery on the silver screen, we have formed a roster of the most viewable movies of 2014:
1. Transformers: Age of Extinction
Release Date: June 27, 2014
Production: Paramount Pictures
Director: Michael Bay
Writer: Ehren Kruger
Main Cast: Mark Wahlberg, Nicola Peltz, Jack Reynor
Duration: 2 Hours 37 Minutes
Get ready for nearly two and a half hours of highly fast-paced entertainment. This movie is an action-thriller with lots of adventurous scenes. And the science fiction background makes it a beautiful series of man and machine interactions to see. The Autobots and Decepticons are portrayed in their full-fledged technological toughness.
2. Dawn of the Planet of the Apes

Production: 20th Century Fox
Director: Matt Reeves
Writer: Scott Z. Burns, Amanda Silver, Rick Jaffa, Mark Bomback
Main Cast: Gary Oldman, Keri Russell, Andy Serkis
This one is like the previous Transformers flick except for the fact that it has more of a dramatic flair to it. The genetic modifications and mutations that lead the apes to become almost human in their imperialistic designs cause a lot of drama to unfold in this memorable movie.
3. Hercules

Prodcution: MGM, Paramount Pictures
Director: Brett Ratner
Writer: Ryan Condal, Evan Spiliotopoulos

4. Guardians of the Galaxy

Production: Walt Disney Pictures
Director: James Gunn
Writer: James Gunn

Duration: 2 Hours 2 Mins
James Gunn and Nicole Perlman feature in this sci-fi adrenaline pumper of a film. The space-age epic shows a pilot named Peter Quill who becomes the victim of a desperate search. The opposing forces are represented by Ronan. It will rock the audience to no end.

This is a pattern-breaker since it also gives a dose of comedy besides high jinx. NYC is the provenance of the whole scenario and Shredder is all powerful. Then the four mutated turtles get ready to give him some lip.

Again it is a dramatic overture. A set society is shown where all sorts of conflict and pain have been done away with. However, just like the metaphor behind the story of Buddha, a young lad seeks wisdom from an aged man who teaches him that facing the good and the bad are a better choice than a life of anesthesia.
7. The Expendables 3
Release Date: August 15, 2014
Production: Lionsgate
Director: Patrick Hughes
Writer: Creighton Rothenberger, Katrin Benedikt, Sylvester Stallone
Main Cast: Sylvester Stallone, Jason Statham, Jet Li
A truly action-packed thriller, this movie has it all. Dangerous punches, curved routes travelled in cars that seem to hit the wall and doing away with the expendables are just part of the pretty florid scenery. And with Stallone appearing after a long time (the last time was in the Rambo series) it will be a piece of cake to view this heart-stopper.
8. Dumb and Dumber To
Release Date: November 14, 2014
Production: Universal Pictures
Director: Bobby Farrelly, Peter Farrelly
Writer: Sean Anders, John Morris
Main Cast: Jim Carrey, Angela Kerecz, Laurie Holden
Now this is pure comedy and that too is of the oddball and screwball kind. Jim Carrey and Jeff Daniels make that big smile appear on many a face by their funny and eccentric antics. The two clowns set out on a wanderlust quest to find their long lost kids who will provide them with a kidney for a transplant. How hilarious or downright weird can it get!
9. The Hunger Games: Mockingjay – Part 1
Release Date: November 21, 2014
Production: Lionsgate
Director: Francis Lawrence
Writer: Danny Strong
Main Cast: Jennifer Lawrence, Josh Hutcherson, Liam Hemsworth
Get ready for some extreme physicality as Katniss is back with her usual bag of tricks. And this time around she will be challenging the government itself. The dictatorial ways of the bloodthirsty rulers are about to change for the better thanks to Katniss’s plans which she is about to hatch with a little help from others.
10. The Hobbit: The Battle of the Five Armies

Production: New Line Cinema (Warner Bros. Pictures)
Director: Peter Jackson
Writer: Peter Jackson, Fran Walsh, Philippa Boyens, Guillermo del Toro

Two cheers for fantasy and the impossible! With Bilbo Baggins being literally resurrected from the past, this is one of J.R.R.Tolkien’s greatest heirlooms to the world before he left for the afterlife. His Lord of the Rings gave us such characters that we couldn’t forget them even if we tried. But with the Hobbit we go into a fairytale existence that invites us to share in its imaginary creation of other-worlds.
