It looks as if the “Ion-strengthened glass” on the iPhones couldnt be strong enough to beat concrete
The iPhone 6 goes through a Drop Test
So with the new iPhones we have finally got some bigger screens from Apple and don’t be fooled by the bigger screens; bigger or larger doesn’t always mean stronger. And also in case you drop that phone, you are going to have to a bigger cracked screen on your gadget. The question that is nowadays on everyone’s mind is what the iPhone 6 does when it is dropped. Thanks to the drop test videos of both the phones, we have finally known the answer.
Your best shot would be if the phone falls with the screen up but from the butter toast experiment we do know one thing that this is not likely to happen. But in case it does, you will not have so much on your plate to worry about. The maximum you will get is a little cosmetic damage on the aluminum unibody and that too if you are not fond of using any cases for protection.
However, your worst nightmare is the phone falling on one of its four corners because that is what is more damaging. In this drop test where the phone landed with its corner first on the ground, the iPhone 6 Plus gave away and cracked its screen. The smaller version however survived the test but from what we have concluded, this could just be a game of luck. We heard about the “Ion-strengthened glass” on the iPhones but looks like it couldn’t be strong enough to beat concrete.
