Randy Jackson’s Wife Erika Files For Divorce

The former American Idol judge, Randy Jackson, has been voted out of marriage by his wife. TMZ first reported that the couple are separating after 18 years. From Hollywood’s point of view, that’s a lifetime because we see so many couples not working out these days.

Erika filed for a divorce on September 26. She said that she was filing for a divorce because of differences among Randy and her. Erika isn’t going to go easy on Randy as she is requesting for full custody of their 17 year old son. 

She is also going to ask for a spousal support. And on top of that Randy is going to be paying for Erika’s all legal fees. This is going to be one hell of a divorce for Randy Jackson. 

The couple got together many years ago and they were married in 1995. They have two children and their eldest daughter is 19 years old. Erika is Randy’s second wife and he also has a daughter from his first wife Elizabeth. 

A Us Weekly reporter caught up with Randy some days ago at the Annual Clinton Global Citizen Awards in New York City. When the reporter asked Randy what you would want to change about yourself, he said that he would tell his younger version to be passionate about everything you do. 

He also said that you should learn what you want to do in your life. He said that in life we want a lot of things but at the end of the day it all comes down to what you actually want. 

He also said that he is trying to improve every day and is trying to get better at what he needs. Randy seems to have grown up as he said “the need will help me get through the want just as another fulfillment”. 

The divorce was filed weeks after Randy sold his Tarzana California estate for $1.9 million. Randy who left American Idol after 12 seasons, is going to return in January as a mentor.
