Laster SeeThru Augmented Reality Glasses hit Kickstarter

Since the launch of the Google Glass wearable computing device, a lot of companies have been working hard to get their own wearable glasses and devices onto the market. A new wearable computing product has hit Kickstarter seeking funds called the Laster SeeThru.

These glasses claim to be the first genuine wireless augmented reality eye ware. The glasses feature a see through screen with a resolution of 800 x 600. They also have integrated gyroscopes and accelerometers.

The glasses weigh less than two ounces and provide information about your surrounds when you look around. The information pops up in a way that doesn’t interrupt your field of view. The company says that the information offered by the glasses would be things like names and measurements for mountains in a range you are looking at.

The glasses could also be used to provide GPS navigation directions in a HUD format. The rechargeable battery promises to last 6-8 hours per charge. If you like what you hear, the glasses are available to pre-order on Kickstarter for $399 per pair. The project is seeking $300,000 and has raised $20,605 so far. The project has another 58 days to go before funding.
