Swyp can store information of up to 25 cards and will deactivate when your card is 6 feet away

Though we haven’t seen any big name making it to the newly explored potential of high-tech cards but just like in any other field, the completion is growing. Swyp is the newest entry which has hopped on to this bandwagon; it is a metallic device which comes with a screen and can turn into whatever card you need to use for moment, as long as you make correct use of the scroll buttons.

You will need to upload all your information onto this magical card by scanning your credit cards and loyalty cards with the magnetic strips. A reader which can easily plug into your phone’s headphone jack is going to do all this scanning. The detail on each of your cards is then going to be stored into the accompanying app which is also going to let you take pictures of paper receipts. The device has the capacity to store information of up to 25 cards and this is the most prominent differential feature as far as the competing firms are concerned. Coin, its oldest competition, can store up to 8 cards, while Plastc can keep up to 20.

The Verge says that the Swyp has been designed in such a way that it will deactivate incase your phone detects that the card is more than six feet away but you can override this option in case you are paying at the restaurant. A limited number of Swyp cards were up for pre order at a cost of $49 but now they are all sold and you will have to pay $99 for it when it launches this year.
