Microsoft is reportedly launching a wearable device in the next weeks.
Apple has unveiled the Apple Watch in September. The smartwatch will go on sale early 2015. Now Forbes reports that the Apple Watch will face not only the Android competition but also Microsoft is launching a smartwatch in the next few weeks.
According to the Forbes report the Microsoft Watch is tracking a wearer’s heart rate and works across different mobile platforms.
The battery life would more than 2 days, which would be a lot more than any other smartwatch available today.
The Microsoft Watch is still unnamed, but would still be available for the crucial holiday season. There are further details on what else the Microsoft Watch would be able to offer on functionality. The Forbes report only focuses on the potentially amazing battery life and the cross platform syncing.
Microsoft has already smartwatch experience. A decade ago Microsoft introduced the Microsoft SPOT Watch. Let’s see if this legacy is an advantage. The SPOT watch failed of course despite a lot of hype. SPOT Watches used a radio service called MSNDirect to provide a wide variety of information on demand – including mobile Internet, e-mail, channels for news, weather, sports and stock quotes, and a calendar.
