Fury took the Weekend Box Office

Brad Pitt’s World War II action movie Fury hit theaters this weekend and as predicted it took the top of the weekend box office.

There will be Fury at the box office this weekend, I said a week ago and it has been. Brad Pitt and Shia LaBeouf star in a World War II set action movie that took the#1 box office spot on the weekend. Fury topped Gone Girl with a domestic box office result of $23.5m. Gone Girl still made $17.8m this weekend. The Book of Life came in third according to the Rentrak ranking.

In Fury the story about a tank crew behind enemy lines at the end of the war is told with a ton of action. It is April of 1945. As the Allies make their final push into Europe, a battle-hardened army sergeant named Wardaddy (Brad Pitt) commands a Sherman tank and her five-man crew on a deadly mission behind enemy lines. Outnumbered and outgunned, Wardaddy and his men face overwhelming odds in their heroic attempts to strike at the heart of Nazi Germany.

The cast of Fury includes Brad Pitt, Shia LaBeouf, Logan Lerman, Jon Bernthal, Jason Isaacs, Scott Eastwood. David Ayer has written and directed the movie.
