ABC renews ‘Castle’ and the Marvel universe series but cancels others!
It’s that time of the year again when network executives have to make the crucial decision of renewing or cancelling a series. Its seems the executives at the ABC network have apparently come to their decisions as they cancel two shows and renew a some series favorites.
First off the shows cancelled for the coming TV season which is the 2015 to 2016 season include the series ‘Forever’, ‘Cristela’ ‘Resurrection’ and ‘The Taste’. Among the cancelled the most prominent is the cancellation of the series ‘Revenge’ and the decision was announced before time and it will be wrapping up its final episode on the coming Sunday.
On the other hand fan favorite shows such as ‘Castle’, Marvel’s Agents of SHIELD’, ‘Marvel’s Agent Carter’, ‘Nashville’, Grey’s Anatomy’, ‘Scandal, ‘How to Get away with Murder’ and ‘Once upon a Time’ will be returning for their respective next seasons, according to Variety.
Castle will take off its season 8 with Nathan Fillion, however the fate of the other show star Stana Katic is not confirmed and the show /4/have to redefine itself. ‘Grey’s Anatomy’ will similarly be reinventing itself as one of the main character Dr. McDreamy was previously killed off before the series finale. ‘How to get away with Murder’ has previously unofficially announced its renewal during the second season finale.
Another new Shonda Rhimes drama has been ordered by ABC entitled ‘The Catch’ which will star Mireille Enos in the lead role. Although another spin-off in the Marvel universe in development was cancelled the shows ‘Marvel’s Agents of SHIELD’ and ‘Marvel’s Agent Carter’ have both been renewed for their respective 3rd and 2nd seasons.
In the comedic genre series such as ‘The Goldbergs’ and Galavant’ renewed by ABC, along with ‘Modern Family’ but no surprises there.
However, ABC has reportedly cancelled Agents Of S.H.I.E.L.D. spinoff.
