AccuWeather for Ford SYNC AppLink will be demonstrated at CES 2015

AccuWeather for Ford SYNC AppLink will provide drivers with weather conditions and gives advance warning of bad weather.

Julius Marchwicki the Connected Services Product manager of Ford stated that the new integration of AccuWeather for Ford SYNC AppLink will provide their customers with the most up to date weather information while they are on the road.

He further said that this new system is very easy to use and with the addition of MinuteCast the drivers will experience minute by minute weather forecasts for up to two hours.

AccuWeather is a global leader and a renowned name in the digital weather information. The company is now introducing its MinuteCast for the Ford SYNC AppLink customers.

This new technology will use an exact street address or GPS location to provide minute by minute weather forecasting, intensity, duration and information about precipitation type to the driver.

The driver can use the app by selecting MinuteCast on the vehicle display menu. When he does this the driver will see a static image of the weather condition he or she will soon face and even the time the rain is expected to happen on the route.

The app even delivers an audio warning to the driver. This service is available for countries including United States, United Kingdom, Canada, Japan and Ireland but the list is still growing. 

The chief digital officer for AccuWeather, Steven Smith stated that the AppLink enabled AccuWeather app will make getting such information easier for drivers. Smith stated that they are excited to have their famous and award winning app available to drivers through SYNC AppLink.

Smith also explained that the app will have many new important features which will include severe weather alerts and AccuWeather MinuteCast. He also stated that the Ford SYNC AppLink is connecting users with the weather information that is needed when they travel so to give them a better travel and driving experience.

Ford came up with car connectivity with SYNC which now allows drivers to pair their mobile devices, make and receive calls and operates other features hands-free using voice control. This has led to many difficulties faced by the drivers to be overcome.

This new technology will be demonstrated by the companies at the CES 2015 which will be held in Las Vegas from the 6th to the 9th of January.
