- Acura NSX Production Model will be displayed for the first time at the North American International Auto Show 2015
The luxury vehicle division of Honda Motor Company will be displaying its new model at the NAIAS 2015.
Acura will be displaying its production version of the NSX supercar which is a successor to the renowned original NSX, will be displayed for the first time at the NAIAS 2015 which starts from the 12th of January. This model is set to reflect the production design and specifications of the mid-engine Acura supercar that is all set to be launched in 2015.
In response to the debut of NSX, Acura has released a 30 second teaser video that gives a look at the production car and the sound of its three-motor, twin-turbocharged Sport Hybrid power unit. Anyone interested to look at the NSX production design should check out the video for sure.
Mike Accavitti the senior vice president and general manager of Accavitti stated that the next-generation NSX will deliver an exciting and new sports experience to the supercar concept that basically gave rise to its name NSX. He further said that the NSX will be the ultimate expression of the Acura performance and it will not be disappointing at all.
Remembering the 2012 North American International Auto Show, Acura’s NSX model was also made to debut at the event. At the event the President and CEO of Honda Motor Co., Ltd. Takanobu Ito had made it clear that the production of a next-generation NSX would be completed in 3 years and will be spearheaded by an American R&D team and will be produced at a state of the art plant in Ohio.
Ted Klaus the chief engineer and global project leader over NSX development said that the team was very excited for bringing out this next-generation supercar ‘Acura NSX’ to the world. He explained that it has taken the team three years of hard work and dedication to develop the supercar. Ted further stated that the team is proud to tell that they have developed a human-centered supercar that responds to the will of the driver and also builds upon the NSX tradition.
Now the next accomplishment of the NSX and Acura will be when the production version is displayed for the world at the NAIAS 2015 on the 12th of January at 11:50 a.m. ET. The press conference can also be enjoyed live from your home, so do not miss the glimpse of the new NSX model.
As mentioned above the NSX has been developed by the company’s North American R&D operations in Raymond, Ohio which include some of the world’s best engineers. The design has been created by the Acura Design Studio in Torrance, CA.
The NAIAS 2015 will begin from the 12th of January. The show will be divided into 4 parts which include the press preview (12-13 January), industry preview (14-15 January), charity preview (16th January) and the public show (17-25 January). The NAIAS will take place in Detroit, Michigan at the COBO Center.
