  • The doctors say that the next two days are critical and will decide his dancing fate.

Alfonso sustained a back injury while rehearsing for his next week’s performance. He was trying to compensate for a groin injury he had gotten when he performed his successful Carlton performance.

Alfonso Ribeiro has appeared as one of the most consistent and better performers this season. He received a standing ovation from Carrie Anne Anaba for his Carlton performance back in October. It seems like standing ovations, praise and points are not the only thing the Fresh Prince of Bel Air star got for the Carlton performance.

He got a groin injury while trying to execute his signature move. Signature move proved to be very expensive. He and Carson, his partner, had been trying to compensate for the injury. According to Alfonso he had no idea he had pulled it too hard but he did.

He kept rehearsing but recently sustained a back injury for the semi-finals. The injury this time is so bad that he can barely walk. He took time off rehearsals to get an MRI. The doctors have told him that the next 48 hours i.e. 2 days are critical. If Alfonso doesn’t take care of his back, his dancing days will be behind him for the future.

As of November 14, Alfonso has been attending the rehearsals. He had been watching a sub dancing with Carlson. He has been hoping to imitate the performance but at the semi-finals that might not be good enough. Alfonso might be dropping out from the race to win the Mirrorball Trophy after all.

His withdrawal from the competition will leave four couples to compete for the trophy. Sadie Robertson and partner Mark Ballas,  Bethany Mota with  Derek Hough as partner, comedian Tommy Chong and partner Peta Murgatroyd and Pretty Little Liars actress Janel Parrish  and partner  Val Chmerkovskiy.
